Limington, ME Project – 24×60 Modular Horse Barn
Project Description:
This is a 24’x60’ double-wide modular horse barn. This Limington, ME horse barn was built with white pine board & batten siding stained with a semi-transparent stain manufactured by Sherwin Williams. The corner trim, window trim, door trim, and crossbucks are painted Tricorn Black. The roof uses 7-pitch rafters and an insulated 28-gauge metal roof in Black by A.B. Martin. The loft window is a sliding wood barn sash by Bird-In-Hand Windows & Doors; the insulated service door with window is also by Bird-In-Hand. The large windows are insulated double-hung Endure Series units by ProVia Windows & Doors. Uninsulated overhead garage doors are by General Doors Corporation, installed by Monterey Door Shop. The 8'×9' and 9'×9' roll doors, 4'×7' dutch doors with window, service door, and loft door are all manufactured by J&N Structures. A B-24 Boston Series cupola with windows and a moose weather vane by Creative Cupolas adorns the roof. The foundation is a concrete pad installed by the customer.
Layout:
Inside are two 12'×12' stalls, a 12'×8' tack room, a 12'×32' aisle, and a 24'×28' open garage area. A partial loft, accessed via ladder in the aisle, overlooks the stalls and aisle and is trimmed with a wood railing. One end of the loft has a swinging loft door; the other end has a sliding window. Stalls feature 4'-high oak kick boards, sliding stall doors with yokes into the center aisle, and dutch doors with windows to the outside. The tack room has flooring, an insulated double-hung window, and a service door into the aisle. The aisle terminates in a sliding door at one end and is flanked by two insulated double-hung windows; it connects to the garage area by another sliding door. The garage area contains two bays with overhead garage doors and openers, plus two insulated double-hung windows on one side and an insulated double-hung window with service door on the other.
